Mount Medic 1.3.1

Mount Medic is an MIT-licensed Linux desktop app and command-line utility for diagnosing NTFS mount failures on drives shared with Windows. It offers read-only checks and permission-gated repairs for eligible dirty-flag or unclean-journal problems using the distribution's NTFS-3G tools. Monitoring, automatic repair and automatic mounting are separate per-drive choices; new drives start unmanaged. It refuses repairs for hibernation/cached Windows state, I/O errors, busy or mounted devices, and uncertain checks. It does not replace Windows chkdsk or recover failing hardware; back up valuable data before approving writes. The app uses Python 3.11+, GTK 3 and a small read-only C probe. Submitted by the project's maintainer, aakashH242.

1.3.110 Oct 2026 17:33 minor feature: Version 1.3.1 reorganizes the drive-permission dialog, separates repair warnings from administrator-access guidance, and keeps its action buttons visible with long drive names or large text. Drive and diagnostics table columns can be resized, and status text wraps. Check times show AM/PM; automatic and manual checks update the displayed time. Existing drive permissions, preferences and check history are preserved.
