Subtitle Reading-Speed Lab git-4432c60

Subtitle Reading-Speed Lab is a small MIT-licensed educational browser example for subtitle authors and web-code learners. Paste basic SRT cues to compare Unicode text counts with cue duration and a user-selected characters-per-second threshold. Invalid timestamps, nonpositive durations and empty dialogue are reported separately. It does not translate, transcribe, repair or judge the linguistic accuracy of subtitles. The example has no external runtime dependencies. It uses Intl.Segmenter for grapheme counting when available and otherwise counts code points. Synthetic examples and 16 automated Node.js logic checks are included. Substantial AI development assistance is disclosed in AI-USAGE.md; no independent human code review or audience study is documented. Affiliation: the example is attributed to Scanfile contributors. The separate Scanfile file-translation service uses one-time credits with conditional samples and previews; that service is not licensed by this MIT source repository.

git-4432c6025 Oct 2026 01:54 documentation: Public source snapshot at commit 4432c60010552b6393c21923b76ff8ada8c2d1c3 adds AI-USAGE.md and a README disclosure link. The computational HTML, CSS, JavaScript and logic checks are unchanged from the source archive deposited on Zenodo on 2026-10-24; an earlier browser demo was published on 2026-10-21. This is a documentation and provenance update, not a new translation feature or a claim of a first software release. The existing 16 meaningful automated logic checks passed; no independent human review or production evaluation is claimed.
